PERINATAL MENTAL HEALTHWYZE

Community Wisdom for Your Journey to Parenthood

Perinatal depression and anxiety are the leading complications of pregnancy and childbirth, affecting approximately one in four birthing people in Los Angeles County, with increased prevalence rates due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But few people receive the culturally appropriate care and support they need, in part due to lack of access to trusted resources.

Maternal Mental Health NOW seeks to change that.

With our partner Streetwyze we have created a digital story-mapping tool where community members can share resources and experiences that have been meaningful to them in their perinatal wellness journey. Through written and video reviews and a star-rating function, community members can collect their own data in real time, visualize this data, share local knowledge and tell their story on the platform.

This project supports communities in reclaiming their power around pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period by ensuring they have a space where their voice is heard in planning, designing and decision making processes in their neighborhoods. Please join us!
