Maternal Mental Health NOW is proud to offer training, technical assistance, and other forms of consultation to healthcare and community-based providers serving families during their reproductive journey. This includes therapists, clinical psychologists, social workers, community health workers, counselors, nurses (neonatal, pediatrics, labor and delivery, maternity, NICU), midwives, nurse practitioners, physicians (psychiatrists, OB/GYNs, pediatricians, neonatologists, family practitioners, general practitioners, primary care physicians), lactation consultants, health educators, doulas, and home visitors.
Maternal Mental Health NOW offers several options for self-paced professional learning. Bringing Light to Motherhood is our 12 hour CEU course that meets the Postpartum Support International (PSI) Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C) requirement for basic training. Additionally, we offer shorter 2 hour CEU and CME modules that provide training in related and relevant topics within the range of perinatal mental health.
Maternal Mental Health NOW webinars are facilitated by leading experts in the field of perinatal mental health. Many of these webinars are free of cost and introduce you to the work we are doing to ensure that all families have informed perinatal mental health care. Topics include perinatal mental health and NICU families, dads and perinatal mental health, intersectionality and perinatal mental health, and trauma-informed practices for pregnant and birthing people.
Maternal Mental Health NOW training faculty are skilled at providing interactive, multimodal, and engaging training specially designed and tailored for each unique audience. These live events, whether virtual or in-person, include opportunities for rich discussion, personal stories, and tangible tools to prepare professionals working with families impacted by perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. Whether you need a comprehensive primer on maternal mental health, an advanced specialized training, or a short introduction, we have a variety of options available. Costs vary depending upon date, length, topics covered, and audience size. To arrange for the Training Institute to come to your agency or place of work, please contact us.
Maternal Mental Health NOW proudly presents live and virtual conferences. Topics at these conferences have included “The Intersection of Trauma and Perinatal Mental Health,” “Diversity, Determinants and Disparities in Perinatal Mental Health,” and “Sex and Perinatal Mental Health.” These events feature world renowned leaders and voices, and explore complex issues that clinicians in the field of perinatal mental health work with daily. Stay tuned for details on the next conference in our Legal and Ethical Dilemmas in Perinatal Mental Health series.
Additional support to healthcare providers is offered in our free monthly virtual consultation groups. These groups, facilitated by members of our training faculty (licensed clinicians), provide opportunities for additional learning, integration, clinical insight, peer interaction, and troubleshooting for complex cases.
