Bringing Light to Motherhood

Maternal Mental Health NOW | Bringing Light to MotherhoodThe Bringing Light to Motherhood training is comprised of seven (7) independent modules: (1) Risk Factors & Prevalence, (2) Symptoms & Diagnoses, (3) Screening & Assessment, (4) Attachment & Bonding, (5) Interventions, (6) Treatment Plans, and (7) Psychopharmalogical Considerations. Learning Objectives include: (1) Recognize and describe symptoms of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (2) Identify risk factors, co-morbid conditions and additional considerations; (3) Administer screening and assessment tools to pregnant and postpartum women; and (4) Apply the basics of effective intervention and utilize resources for informed care.

Bringing Light to Motherhood is an approved pre-requisite course for the Postpartum Support International’s Certification in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C).

AUDIENCE
Health Care Professionals including therapists, clinical psychologists, social workers, community health workers, counselors, nurses (neonatal, labor and delivery, maternity, NICU), midwives, nurse practicioners, physicians (psychiatrists, OB/GYNs, pediatricians, neonatalogists, family practitioners, general practitioners, primary care physicians), lactation consultants, health educators, doulas & home visitors.
COUNTINUING EDUCATION
This course meets the qualifications for 12 hours of continuing education for LMFTs, LPCCs, LCSWs, LEPs, and psychologists as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences and California Board of Psychology. Wellnest is the sponsor of continuing education for this learning module and is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. Wellnest as the sponsor maintains responsibility for this program and its content.
